QUALIFYING SERIES INAUGURAL TOURNAMENT

AT THE MID OCEAN CLUB, BERMUDA

TOURNAMENT FEE INCLUDES:

 

Lunch; 18 holes of golf with carts; Drinks Reception after Golf; Goody Bags; Other Prizes.

WHEN:  MAY 11, 2018            LUNCH:  NOON            TEE TIME:  1 PM            PRICE:  $450 PER PERSON

 

Play to help the development of Bermuda's Youth through participation in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award

and the chance to win an extraordinary prize to Windsor, UK.

RULES:   Stableford Scoring.  To qualify, players must have an active recognized handicap and must be 18 before the September World Finals.

BERMUDA IS ONE OF ONLY 10 COUNTRIES TO HOST THIS PRESTIGIOUS TOURNAMENT IN 2018

Participation in the Award programmes equips hundreds of young people on an annual basis to discover, develop

and achieve their greatest potential.  The programme is open to all between the ages of 14 - 25 and available

free of charge through the generosity of donor partnerships and successful fundraising events.

WORLD FINALS INVITATION INCLUDES
  • Return economy flights to London

  • Hotel accommodation for five nights

  • ‘The Duke of Edinburgh Cup’ contested over two days

  • Round one; at Bearwood Lakes followed by lunch

  • Round two; at Camberley Heath Golf Club followed by lunch

  • Royal Prize Giving Dinner in Windsor Castle with a senior member of the Royal Family in attendance

  • In addition there will be an invitation to play at The Royal Household Golf Club at Windsor Castle    

 

A partner / guest is welcome to accompany the qualifier and may share the hotel room, but flights, functions, golf, meals and other expenses will be at the partners’ / guests’ own cost.

The Qualifying Event is Sanctioned by the Bermuda Golf Association

 

  • The event is to be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as laid down by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and any additional local rule that the golf club has in place.

  • All decisions on the rules will be decided by the tournament organisers and IGFY whose decision shall be final.

  • A player must have a current valid handicap to qualify for the World Finals.

  • A player must be 18 yrs of age on or before the start date of the World Finals.

  • Distance only Measuring / GPS devices are allowed for the duration of the whole tournament including the World Finals.

  • It is to be an 18 hole Stableford competition off full handicap, with a maximum after any adjustment for slope of 28 for Men and 36 for Ladies.

  • Ties to be decided by count back of last nine, six, three, two and final hole of the course regardless of the order played. If still the same then the last six, three, two and final holes of the front nine. If there is still no result there will be a sudden death play-off using Stableford scoring with full handicap.
