On behalf of our Patron and President – His Excellency The Governor Sir Richard Gozney KCMG, The Trustees, The Council, The Award Leaders and many volunteers of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Bermuda, it gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to our new website! I report with humility and pride that The Award Programme is growing from strength to strength and gaining momentum like a freight train climbing over the peak of a mountain to deliver opportunity to those in need and wanting to partake in a revolutionary programme which highlights their journey of personal discovery.

I encourage you to spread the word that The Award, which is also known as the ‘Passport to Adulthood’, is quickly becoming the Programme of Choice for Bermuda’s Young People. You will find some trying to imitate it, but our aim is simply to facilitate an exciting self-development programme, which is available to all Young People, equipping them with the life-skills to make a difference, to not only themselves, but their communities and the world.

The Award Programme offers a structure that supports these experiences resulting in the long-term development of our Young People.

As we all know, Bermuda’s only and natural resource is its youth, so I encourage YOU to share this message with at least one Young Person so that we can sustain our Bermuda.

Also, at this time, I would like to thank all of our Sponsors who have supported us over the past four decades, assisting us to deliver a quality programme to well over 5000 Young People in Bermuda! The monies donated have also assisted us in being seen, both locally and internationally, as a quality youth programme. We are a part of a larger equation - The International Award for Young People - which now operates in over 125 countries, has over 6,000,000 Alumni and currently has over 800,000 participants! This in itself is a testament that the 3Rs stand for Real Fun, Real Challenges and Real Rewards.

    Sincerely,

    Kenneth Bartram
